Presentation of the ACTIF GABON program

ACTIF GABON (Support for the creation of repair and subcontracting businesses to promote the integration of young people and women entrepreneurs), is an innovative program, developed in 2018 by CMA France and the French Embassy in Libreville, in partnership with the Gabonese Ministry of SMEs and Handicrafts (MPMEA) and with the financial support of the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE).

Through the plurality of involved actors and affected sectors, this program offers an innovative and concrete response to the problem of the professional integration of young people and women by promoting the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs.

ACTIF GABON considers that the main obstacle to integration is not any failing dynamic of business creation but rather the absence of support during the design and implementation phases of creation, and the absecne of development and consolidation of the companies created.

Targeted audiences

The direct beneficiaries of the project are young people, women and business leaders with entrepreneurial potential or wishing to consolidate it within the framework of an individual or collective project for the creation or formalization of a business, or for contracting in new markets within of a defined sector.

Expected results

  • The emergence of a new generation of women and young business leaders is encouraged by the creation and formalization of businesses in the wood and non-wood forest products sectors, the manufacture and repair of agricultural equipment and tools, renewable energies, collection-sorting-recycling and maintenance of computer and electronic equipment.
  • Each target group (business leaders, young people, women) has benefited from at least two development missions and new business opportunities are identified.
  • Young people, women and business leaders who will have benefited from technical support and accompaniment will be represented and audible within their professional organizations and, thus, in the future National Chamber of Crafts of Gabon.
  • Access to the most promising markets is facilitated by the missions of craft companionship and entrepreneurial support as well as by the services offered by the CNMAG.
